Elementary Rock and Roll Drumming

This is one of the best books for your absolute first book for learning how to play on the drum set. If you have learned how to at least read basic notes. An example you have read or at least in the middle of “Elementary Drum Method”, by Roy Burns; then you are ready for this book. This is typically the second book that I have drummers read. The book is not super expensive and the value that it returns is massive. right now, while writing this article, the book is only $6.99.

Also, if you buy the book and you notice that it actually is over your head. Then move ahead with your basic reading book a little further. Then pick up this book again. You have to get through this book to, at least, learn how to read drum set. This will show you the absolute basics.

After reading this book, reference the article that I also wrote called The Best books for Beginners learning how to read drum music. Also, you might want to check out the list of intermediate books too.
